Cooling Circuit Leakage Protection System KMP-K

Principle

Cooling Circuit Leakage Protection system KMP-K employs values of volume flow from two flow meters, which are fetched regularly via a digital interface from a Kamstrup MULTICAL®601, 602, 6M2, 603, 6M3, 801, 803 or 8M3 cooling meter to which the flow meters are attached.

Two monitoring functions are employed with the fetched flow data for protecting the installation from leakage, as the KMP-K closes the cut-off valves when a leak is detected by any monitor.

Component errors reported in the heat meters's INFO code are propagated by the KMP-K as System Fault alarm.

Logging

Alarm and Event log

KMP-K maintains a log over the most recent 250 events. Events include power down/up, alarm and error reports, acknowledgements and autoreset, key input, control input and sequencer action.

Jumper log

KMP-K maintains a log of the 15 most recent changes to the internal jumper setting.

These logs contribute to clarification and documentation of actual events.

AERS

On delivery, KMP-K is attached to the DanTaet Alarm and Energy Registration System AERS, which conveys leakage alarms to the duty watch of the property and illustrates the event. AERS transmits alarms in the form of text messages and/or e-mail, and alarms may be remotely acknowledged from the recipient's smarthphone, tablet, laptop or PC.

KMP-K6M and KMP-K8M

Flow meters and valves are selected for each system individually according to media type and operating conditions; hence there are no general system tables for these families.

Variants

Variant -M2 is a complete new delivery.
Variants -M1 and -M0 are used with an existing Kamstrup cooling meter. Note an existing cooling meter must be mains supplied for use with KMP-K.
The MULTICAL®803/8M3 calculator is used when the application requires more than two module slots.
